SPR 2 (SENJATA PENEMBAK JITU PRODUKSI DALAM NEGERI) SOSOK senapan penembak jitu antimaterial, menjadi salah satu keperluan utama pada pertempuran era modern, terutama untuk menghajar pasukan musuh yang berlindung di balik material. Menyadari perkembangan ini, PT Pindad pun tak mau ketinggalan, mereka sudah memproduksi dengan nama Senapan Penembak  Runduk -2 (SPR-2). SPR-2  diharapkan mampu menjadi salah satu produk senjata unggulan dalam negeri 2007, yang kehadirannya dapat menjadi varian produk impor sejenis asal Yugoslavia, Black Arrow M93. Kedua senapan antimaterial ini sama-sama menggunakan peluru kaliber 12,7 mm x 99 (umum pula disebut kaliber .50) dengan isian magasen lima peluru. Kehadiran SPR-2, membuat produk serupa yang sudah muncul dan dipergunakan berbagai angkatan bersenjata di dunia, menjadi sedikitnya 25 jenis.
